Potluck

Larry, I'm planning to attend. I'll be happy to bring some snacks, like cheese and crackers or chips and dip, etc. Randy

We'll be eating at about 6

If you're bringing food to the potluck, please arrive early enough that it can be ready to eat by 6PM. If you need anything special to get it ready, oven, stove, fridge, left handed cleaver, let me know.

At parties and potlucks, people generally buy, or bring, huge amounts of food-like substances. Chips and the like. After the party, there's usually enough crappy food-like stuff thrown away to feed a small village for a couple of days.

At my parties and potlucks I encourage people to bring smaller amounts of something really good. Something decadent. Something that you would be excited to find at a party.

At the Spicy and Exotic party, I'm encouraging people to bring something spicy and/or exotic to share. Mind you, one person's bland is another person's painfully hot. It's also nice to balance spicy food with less than spicy food.

However, if you have any recipies that you brought back from foreign lands, or something really tasty you invented, or don't see often, those would be good candidates.

After the potluck, or maybe even before, life's too short to wait for dessert, we'll be firing up the half horsepower
milkshake machine
, so bring milkshake makings: icecream, malt, fruit, milk, cream ..

If you want to dance, but don't know how, come to the dance class in the afternoon.

Jeff and Nissa Mohler won't be able to make it but their gas powered blender for making margaritas and other fru fru drinks will be here.
Fru-fru drink supplies, bear a close resemblance to milkshake supplies, so if you bring them, we can make high or low octane goodies with them.
Anybody wanna drive the daqueri whacker?

Booze

from http://www.red4est.com/party/etoh.html

There are some people for whom party is synonymous with
consuming booze and drugs. I'm not one of those people. I'm also not a
supporter of the temperance union either.

There will be booze at my party. But it will be a feature, not the
theme. As I've mentioned elsewhere I
emphasize quality over quantity. I have a huge amount of cheap booze
and light (if you hold it up to the sun, you can see light through it)
beer that people have brought to previous parties.

I don't actually get to drink all that much at my parties, I'm too
busy putting them on. However my preferences tend toward
big, flavorful single
malts
, red wine, mead, and darker, not particularly bitter, beer.

Re: Booze

Then I suppose I can't "legally" go. Oh well. Have fun, guys!
Much love,

Re: Booze

Why can't you "legally" come? It's not a bar that only allows 21 and over. Just because you're here, doesn't mean that you have to drink. If you're underaged, I'd prefer that you didn't anyways.

Re: Booze

I'm 16, so...yeah. But I wouldn't drink, because it's bad for my body and dancing. I just wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble if (for example) the cops showed up and were like: "HEY! Underaged girl! Mer!" hehe. Anywho...I recognize your picture...do you go to Gaskells?

Re: Booze

Dancing is one reason why I don't drink much at parties. I have a hard enough time when I'm sober. If you aren't drinking, there's no problem even if the cops do show up.

Yup, I go to gaskells, and have been a fezziwigger, occasionally go to PEERS. We'll be doing swing, waltz and polka at the dance class.

Re: Booze

Haha. O.K. then, that's where i've seen you, and danced with you. I'm doing fezziwigs this year. It'll be fun since i've never done it before. Never been to PEERS though. Should go...

Chili

I've got a rather mild vegetarian chili cooking right now. It's made with ancho and guajillo peppers.

I've also got a pot of octane booster for it as well so that people can boost their chili to a spiciness that suits their taste. The octane boost is made with chipotles, habaneros and bird cayene. It is quite flavorful.

I'd like to cook up some meat that can be thrown in the chili also, for the omnivores amongst us.

Gee whilikers....

Can you tell the holidays are approaching? I'll do my best to get there, including bringing goodies. Maybe I'll whip up some cupcakes or something... anyway, I'll probably get there in the late afternoon/evening since I'm doing Renn Faire earlier that day. I'll bring a buddy, too. I'm a newbie, so hi folks!
